Livermore sits on the cusp of the San Joaquin Valley, spreading out between the hills that separate the San Francisco Bay from the vast agricultural plains of middle California. Canyons drop through the ridges of the Ohlone Regional Wilderness to the south, boaters explore the lake waters of Del Valle, and a whopping 87,000 acres of protected landscape exists just a little further afield, where the Henry W. Coe State Park hides mountain lions and elks.

The nearest airport is in Oakland Intl. Airport (OAK), located 24.4 mi (39.3 km) from the city center. If you're unable to find a flight that fits your schedule, you could book a flight to San Francisco Intl. Airport (SFO), which is 34.2 mi (55.1 km) away.
